Starving Kitten Desperate for Food Jumps into Parked Cars!

They Went to a Fast-food Outlet Looking for a Quick Lunch and Left with a Starving Kitten.

Some good Samaritans popped into a McDonald’s for a quick lunch and saw an emaciated kitten actually jumping into people’s cars in the parking lot, looking for something to eat!

They took the starving kitten to the nearest shelter to see if anything could be done to help her. The shelter found her to be severely underweight. In addition, she had a severe upper respiratory infection along with just about every parasite you can imagine.

But it doesn’t end there, she also had feline leukemia virus (FeLV), a potentially fatal highly contagious disease in cats. Tigerlily Cat Rescue heard about Beatrix’s situation and decided to try and help, hoping to save the car park kitten’s life.

It was felt by many that Beatrix would not live beyond her first year of life.

However, it was hoped by some that despite her range of illnesses, even with one being potentially fatal, with the right treatment she might pull through?

Beatrix

With the right veterinary care and the great staff at Tigerlily Cat Rescue, she proved the doubters wrong. A loving foster family took her in, and after seven months of continuous care, she is now a loving friendly cat, enjoying her feline life to the full.

The staff at Tigerlily Cat Rescue could not have done what they did for Beatrix without the help of GreaterGood.org’s Rescue Bank program, which provided Beatrix with food.

This enabled them to concentrate on treating her illness, giving her the best nutrition and medication. Giving her a chance at living a good life, despite the shortened life expectancy.

Rescue Bank has donated over 275 million meals to animals in need. It is the world’s largest pet food distribution network. The goal is to donate pet food to shelters, rescues, and sanctuaries to help feed the animals until they find forever homes.

Pet food is the number one expense for rescues, usually taking their whole budget. This leaves little or nothing for vet care and treatment.

Rescue Bank steps up to help by sending donated food to rescues in need. The money a rescue or shelter saves on buying food can then be used for vet care, vaccinations, adoptions, and much more.

When Beatrix is not being spoiled with attention or treats, she is the greeter for other FeLV positive cats at the rescue.
